Airtel just introduced two affordable data bundles – the “2gb for 200” naira and the “4gb for 500 naira” data plans to make internet more accessible to the wider range of Airtel customers across the nation.
I was impressed when i saw this package from Airtel because it is not a cheat and it works on all devices including modem so i quickly activated it on my airtel SIM which i already had an active airtel BIS on (BIS on android) but surprisingly, it didn’t brows and it also disabled the remaining 1gb on my blackberry plan and i was so vexed so i tried to figure out how to make it browse by changing the IMEI, the APN and even used Psiphon to power it but it still didn’t work and my 2GB was there staring at me.
So i decided to contact CC (since it is an official data plan) and the said the data plan is only usable on 2g network so i switched to 2g network and viam….
It started browsing at about 30kb/s.
So guys if you can’t withstand the slow 2g network, i suggest you shouldn’t activate this data but if you are going to sandwich it with other data plans to support it, i think it is a better option.

Another people it will favor are those in the villages or a place with no 3g network.
