An elephant caused wrecked havoc after it strolled through the streets of Barobisha in India. His surprise appearance caused traffic chaos for around two hours and sent market traders fleeing as he bulldozed his way along, damaging cars and buildings. It then moved to the main weekly market where at least 500 shops are located.
Thousands of people started chasing the animal as it reached the highway and police were called in to control the crowds, it was reported by The Siliguri Times. The elephant was eventually ushered into the nearby Marakhata forest by wildlife officers after around five hours.
